Hot Chocolate – A Winter’s Treat
Hot Chocolate is a winter’s treat!
Nothing warms the heart during bad weather than a steaming cup of homemade hot chocolate. We love our hot chocolate during the winter in this house. In fact, it wouldn’t be good day during winter if we didn’t have hot chocolate to warm us up after spending anytime outside.
We love our hot chocolate so much that we have a hot chocolate maker. We’re on our second one in fact. The hot chocolate maker allows for homemade hot chocolate made easy and quickly. Think no more burnt hot milk on the stove. A hot chocolate maker is a good investment at less than $30 especially if you enjoy hot chocolate or make milk steamers. It heats and froths the milk.
No mixes for us. Just milk, cocoa, sugar, salt and vanilla. I prefer to use Hershey’s “Perfectly Chocolate” hot chocolate recipe as a base. I do modify it by adding more sugar and vanilla and decreasing the cocoa. Changing it up as warranted. Once you start making homemade hot chocolate, you won’t go back to mixes.
If you make too much hot chocolate you can put it in the fridge. Just add some more milk and then reheat it in the microwave. Tastes just as good the next day.
The final product is a smooth, rich and creamy hot chocolate. Add some whipped cream. Perfection.
Makes for happy hot chocolate drinkers!
